THE START OF SOMETHING NEW
Man! Time flies by so fast, in a blink of an eye. I still remember my mom trying to take pictures of me on my first day attending Lindsay High School. This August 15th was my last first day of high school and it was one for the books. I remember my first day of school I didn’t want my mom dropping me off right in front of the school and me looking like a weirdo, a shy, and scared kid. I saw the seniors driving to school and bumping their music entering the parking lot. Now I’m the one doing all of that and getting all of the attention. Do I feel like a senior?, heck no! I see kids around school taller me, have more facial hair than me. I still feel like I have years left of high school. Seeing all my friends and great teachers I hadn’t seen in months was an awesome feeling. My senior year is going to be very challenging and exciting, but I signed up for it! I’m in a hard position my senior year, I’m taking all my university classes this year which I should’ve took last year. Then again that’s my fault for always messing around and goofing off in class. I’m looking forward to all my football games coming up and all the great memories that I’m going to be making with all my teammates. I'm really looking forward to this year, like 4 years of me thinking of my senior year was so far away and it’s finally here. Everything’s in the past and I’m just focusing on my last year. To be able to play on Friday nights I have to be a student athlete, which means keeping my grades up and passing 4 out of 7 classes. But I always went above and beyond and made it 5 out of 7. I’m really looking forward to my classes this year also, all these hard classes and me being challenged. My hardest class this year has to be chemistry, because I don't understand any of the words Mr. Coles is saying and I get distracted really easy. My second hardest class has to be physiology with Mrs. G! I never thought I would struggle so much pronouncing five letter words. There’s so many muscles, functions, and systems you have to memorize. The one class I really enjoy has to ASB. I enjoy it because I get to be apart of all the school activities and plan most of the event going on at school. This year I got the opportunity to be MC, which means I’m hosting the rallies with one of my best friends. My goal this year is to finish all my classes required for the university track. Another goal I have for myself is to finish my last football year right and without any other injuries. After high school I plan on attending Sac State or Fresno State. I’m really indecisive on my major at the moment, but I know sooner or later I’ll figure it out. Sincerely, Anthony Varela
